Palestinian reps consider US recognition in SDPN panel debate

During the session, representatives of the Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas and Islamic Jihad spoke about the situation on the ground following the US move.

A panel debate was held in the SDPN office in Tehran on the US recognition of the occupied al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

During the session, representatives of the Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas and Islamic Jihad spoke about the situation on the ground following the US move.

Hamas representative Khaled Qoddoumi said the US president Donald Trump was facing internal crises and for the same reason, he resorts to such moves.

Qoddoumi added that the US seeks to put an end to the Palestinian cause, adding the Palestinian resistance has a clear-cut stance towards the move and that Intifada must be made more active.

Next, the Islamic Jihad representative, Naser Abu Sharif said the US stance on the occupied al-Quds stems from the divisions within the Muslim community, adding the US seeks to put it to operation its plan on the Middle East.

The Islamic Jihad representative then warned about the outcomes of the recognition, adding the move would further embolden the Israeli settlers in their attacks on the al-Aqsa mosque.

He said if the US was allowed to carry out the decision, it would mean a green light for ever more insults against Muslims.

Abu Sharif added however that the US move ironically helped the regional resistance to flex mussels and re-tabled the Palestinian issue as a first priority for Muslims.
