Guests of unity conference laud Iranian wrestler

Guests of the 31^st conference of Muslim unity have lauded Iranian wrestler, Ali Reza Karimi for refusing to face an opponent from Israel in a show of non-recognition of the fake state of Israel.

Speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna), former chief of Turkish Dianat Organization, Mehmat Komerz said the refusal was an action to put words into deeds and should be exalted.

For his part, Iraqi professor Zuheir Suleiman said any move in favor of the Palestinian nation is a brave and noble action, either in sports or art.

Also, member of the Lebanese union of Muslim scholars, Abdulghani Mastou said Iranian athletes have always refused to face Israel and have put defense of Palestine ahead of other priorities.

He urged all Arab athletes to follow the steps of Karimi and refuse to face Israeli opponents, adding such refusal would run against a trend of normalization with Israel.

And, member of the Lebanese association of Muslim scholars, Sharid Tahan said he was not surprised by Karimi’s refusal, adding Karimi’s move was a slap in the mouth of all racist policies of Israel.

He added that the Iranian nation have spent all their belongings in the path of Palestine.

Also, Bahraini Muslim scholar, Abdullah Daqaq said Karimi’s move sent the message that Israel should be dismantled from the region.

And, member of the Palestinian Islamic association, Muhammad Qadoura said the Iranian wrestler’s move was a source of pride, adding Muslim states should take lesson from him.
