Era of sectarian differences among Muslims seems over

The conference is staged at a sensitive time in light of the regional developments, especially the complete destruction of the ISIS terror group in Iraq.

Mehdi Azizi:

A first international meeting of the lovers of Ahl ul-Beit (Household of Last Messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad) and the Takfiri issue started work in Tehran on Wednesday.

The conference is staged in the presence of over 500 scholars, both Sunni and Shia from 94 foreign states. Also, over 250 scholars, Shia and Sunni from inside Iran are in attendance.

The conference will run for two days and will debate such issues as the scourge of Takfiris, unity and Muslims, and common issues between Shia and Sunni sects of Islam.

The conference is staged at a sensitive time in light of the regional developments, especially the complete destruction of the ISIS terror group in Iraq.

The end of the terror group may be considered as a start to an era where sectarian differences may no longer provide a ground for Muslims to pit against one another.

It could also be a ground for Muslims to hold fast to their common grounds and push ahead the discourse of anti-US resistance.

The goal could especially be gained in the Palestinian issue.
