A global meeting of the lovers of the household of the last messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad will be held in Tehran on November 21 and 22, according to Secretary General of the Global Assembly of Islamic Awakening, Ali Akbar Velayati.

Velayati told a press conference that the conference will be held in the presence of over 500 Sunni and Shia scholars from 94 states as well as 250 scholars from inside Iran.

He said that scholars from all Muslim denominations have a lover for the household, adding that the US and Israel had aimed now at dividing the Muslim sects.

He said the conference will focus on the common grounds of the two main denominations of Islam, adding it will consider the Takfiri issue as well as the fabrication of the ISIS group.

As for his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri before his resignation from Riyadh, Velayati denied Hariri's allegation over the so-called Iran's meddling in Lebanon internal affairs.

Touching upon his meeting with Hariri prior to latter's sudden resignation, he added that the Lebanese PM was keen on mediating between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

He added that the issue of Iran's so-called meddling in Lebanon domestic affairs was not discussed during the meeting, adding that such accusations are considered as Saudi Arabia and certain other bodies' 'instigtion' who are dissatisfied with the establishment of peace and tranquility in Lebanon and amendment of Tehran-Beirut cordial relations.

Valayati stressed that the issues of mutual interests and regional developments were discussed during his meeting with Harriri also attended by Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali.

'Hariri was keen on mediating between Saudi Arabia and Iran,' Velayati said, adding that,' I told him that we do not have any problems entering negotiations with Riyadh, but tell the Saudis you have been devastating Yemen in the past three years and are preventing food and medicine to reach the Yemeni people.'

'I told Hariri to ask Saudis to stop the genocide in Yemen, enter into negotiations with Yemenis because the Yemen issue only should be settled through the political means not 'blind' bombardment,' Velayati added.

'I told Hariri that Iran hails the unity of Lebanese domestic political parties. I said Lebanon is considered as the most secure Islamic country thanks to the Islamic resistance group and its wise people,' he added.

Calling Iran and Lebanon as 'brother' and 'united', Velayai said the two countries enjoy strategic relations, adding that the Hariri resignation is a domestic issue.

He added that only the Lebanese people should decide whether Hariri should stay in power or not.
