Activist: deal of century aims to quash Palestinian cause

Bassam al-Salhi, from the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP), warned on Saturday of underway attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause once and for all, referring to the US president Donald Trump's so-called deal of the century.

Bassam al-Salhi, from the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP), warned on Saturday of underway attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause once and for all, referring to the US president Donald Trump's so-called deal of the century.

Speaking at a seminar on Palestinian politics staged by the Istanbul-based Vision Center for Political Development, al-Salhi called attention to the need to appeal to the United Nations so as to give green light to the establishment of a Palestinian state, beyond all bargaining chips.

“We should combine forces to deactivate the notorious Oslo Accord and decolonize the Palestinian land by all means possible,” said al-Salhi.

“No doubt, Israel’s colonization project has destroyed the Palestinianhood endeavor. We should stand up for our right to self-determination and sovereignty,” stated al-Salhi.

The PPP leader also called for reformulating the Palestinian constitution and for holding elections as key steps, among many others, to establish democratic and fruitful anti-occupation politics, according to PIC.
