Hamas: Resistance only key to liberating Palestine

Armed resistance is the most effective means to liberate the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, Hamas said on Sunday.

In a statement issued on the anniversary of the Quds ('Jerusalem') Intifada (Uprising), Hamas said the latter signaled a new phase in the anti-occupation struggle and proved to the world that resistance is Palestinians’ best means to retrieve their infringed rights.

Hamas spoke out against Israel’s mounting desecration schemes in the occupied old city of al-Quds ('Jerusalem') and attempts to divide its holy sites.

The resistance movement called for intensifying vigil at holy al-Aqsa Mosque so as to prevent any Israeli attempt to impose a new fait accompli at the site.

Hamas stressed its commitment to national unity and urged all Palestinians, regardless of their partisan affiliations, to combine forces and prop up resistance in the face of the Israeli occupation.
