Israel impudently insists on selling arms to Myanmar

Israel has impudently said it would continue to sell arms to Myanmar amid an ethnic cleansing by Myanmar army against Rohingya Muslims in the country, Haaretz admitted.

Israel has impudently said it would continue to sell arms to Myanmar amid an ethnic cleansing by Myanmar army against Rohingya Muslims in the country, Haaretz admitted.

Israeli declaration has also come despite a UN characterization of the developments in Myanmar as a ‘textbook case of ethnic cleansing’.

On Monday, the High Court of Justice heard a petition by human rights activists against the continued sale of weapons to Myanmar.

In the hearing, Israel has impudently reiterated the initial response it gave in March: The court has no authority to discuss arms sales because it is a “purely diplomatic” matter, Haaretz said.

In the part of the hearing held behind closed doors, Israeli representatives ‘explained’ Israel’s relations with Myanmar to the justices.

Even in the open part of the hearing, the state refused to say that Israel would stop selling weapons to Myanmar, it said.
