Nothing new in Abbas' UNGA speech - analyst

Abdussattar Qasem, professor of political science, said that Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) reiterated the same old mistakes and did not come up with new information.

Abdussattar Qasem, professor of political science, said that Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech at the UN General Assembly (UNGA), on Wednesday evening, reiterated the same old mistakes and did not come up with new information.

"His speech would not impact the international community," he opined.

In an interview with the PIC, Qasem said that the speech was mere pegging that diminishes the importance of the Palestinian people and unveils Abbas’s

weakness.

Abbas did not mention the right to resistance in contrary to the International Law which admits the right to resistance of any people languishing under occupation, Qasem elaborated.
