Aide to the Islamic Revolution Leader, Ali Akbar Velayati has met with director genral of the Iraqi Fazilat party, Abdulhossein Mousavi and its accompanying delegation.

The aide greeted the Iraqi brethren and said ‘the delegation has actually visited its second country of origin.”

Velayati expressed the hope the exchange of delegations between the two countries would help them get closer, adding few other nations may be found to have such levels of exchanges.

Following the meeting, Velayati was asked about Iraq-Saudi relatrions to which he answered “it is important that the regional countries should exercise relations based on good neighborliness” and that “if a state has violated the good neighbor policy but wishes to mend it, Iran would welcome the decision.”

“Iran wishes to see peace among the regional states and would not allow the aliens to infiltrate into the region,” he said, adding the regional nations must be allowed to decide their own fate.

For his part, Mousavi said he was delighted to meet with Velayati and exchange views with him.

The Iraqi politician noted that the terrorist scourge in Iraq helped the two neighboring nations to draw closer to one another.
