This town is known for its many archaeological sites and the spread of caves in its mountains, which were documented by researcher and educator Awni Al-Zaher. The people of the village use these caves as artesian wells, where jars of gold were also found.

A town of heritage
Antiquities spread throughout every corner of the town. Residents were able to renovate a mosque that had been neglected for many years, where prayers were resumed again.

The town’s activists renovated many heritage and historical sites, turning them into local and international attractions.

The village is located on a high mountain overlooking the valley of Fara’a in Sumit. The mountains of Western Jordan, such as the mountains of Salt and Al-Arda and the region of Kafranga to the north, could be seen from there.

Two kilometers to the north, the Sheikh Mount and the Golan Heights could be seen too, when the weather is clear. To the west, part of the Palestinian coast near the Tulkarm area could be seen too, especially at night, when lights are bright. Yet, to the south, the village is completely blocked by the Mount of Ebal.
