Excavations in Silwan unearthed more Islamic antiquities

Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, the chairman of the higher Islamic authority, has said that the Israeli occupation authority's (IOA) excavations under and near the Aqsa Mosque only revealed more Islamic ruins.

Sabri, describing the diggings as an aggression on the Silwan lands south of the Aqsa, noted that no Jewish relics were found.

He was quoted on Sunday by the Middle East news agency as saying that the IOA excavation work was violating the citizens' private property and the sanctity of the holy Islamic shrines topped by the Aqsa Mosque.

Sabri called on the Arab and Islamic countries to employ their influence with the world community to check the Israeli ferocious settlement offensive, the judaization of occupied Al-Quds, and the excavations and digging of tunnels under the holy Aqsa Mosque.
