Khateeb slams Muslims' weak stand on Aqsa

Deputy-head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948-ocupied Palestinian lands Sheikh Kamal Al-Khateeb has strongly condemned the Arab and Muslims' feeble stand on the Aqsa Mosque, asserting that Israel was imposing its sovereignty on it.

Khateeb also slammed the PA leadership and the PA negotiating team who sits with the Israelis despite the Israeli occupation government's construction of more than 9,000 settlement units around the sacred Muslim shrine.

He also deplored those who say that they were surprised by the Israeli construction activities in occupied Al-Quds, adding that those officials should know better than anyone else that the Israeli construction activities didn’t come to a stop since the holy city fell under the Israeli occupation in 1967.

"They are indeed ignorant about the Israeli policies that prioritize the judaization of Beit Ul Moqaddas, and retaining it as the united capital of Israel", said Al-Khateeb of PA officials sitting with the Israelis frequently.

"The Palestinian unawareness of what is happening in occupied Beit Ul Moqaddas was indeed the thing that bothers me more," highlighted Khateeb in a statement to the Quds Press.

He also revealed that the bulk of the Israeli settlements were built in Ras Al-Amod, and Silwan villages, which is only 100 meters away from the southern wall of the Aqsa Mosque.

"We are now before a new actual condition where the Israeli occupation government tries to bring about essential distortions on the Aqsa Mosque and the area that surround it, in addition to the excavation activities that occur beneath it", underscored Khateeb, emphasizing that he was of full conviction that the Israeli occupation will be removed as all occupations before had been removed.

Moreover, Khateeb regretted the Arab and Muslims' stand on the Aqsa Mosque, explaining that Arab and Muslims' role didn’t rise yet to the value and position of the Mosque for more than a billion Muslims world-wide, underlining that at the end the Palestinian negotiation team "will return with empty hands" from those futile negotiations.

Finally, Khateeb disclosed that Israel was and still is doing its best to dominate the Aqsa Mosque as it allows tourists and Israeli settlers to freely stroll inside the Mosque under the full protection of the IOF troops.

"We had said before that the Aqsa is in Danger; but now we say that the Aqsa Mosque was in utmost danger that engulfs it from all sides", asserted Khateeb.
