Possible cause of relative calm in ME

 The US and Israel are apparently settling the remaining crisis in Middle East to direct their gun exclusively at Iran however more deliberations would hint at a reverse.

In Annapolis last year, the US instructed its point men to put a seal on the Palestinian file by forming a Palestinian state however several rounds of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian authority have produced no good result.

All issues of disagreement have apparently been tackled in these negotiations unless the issue of Qods and other holy sites. The US government seems to have put a heavy pressure on the Zionist regime to give concession over the issue as Abu Mazen, head of the authority, was in dire need of such a concession to absorb support in home. Olmert who felt his inability to do the task tried to open the file of Jolan area as a distraction and that was the motivation behind recent indirect talks with Syria.

Syrians however know that Israel was not a man of his word and tries to buy time through the talks therefore they underlined they would never budge over the resistance issue and would not relinquish their support to Hamas and Hezbollah.

Therefore, one has little proof to arrive at conclusion that the US pursues to settle all files to face Iran alone rather the fact of the matter is that the US is scrambling against the increasing might of Iran in the region.

The claim would be more substantiated as one considers the latest retreat of west in the nuclear issue as they conceded to Iran's demand to enrich uranium but wished the level of work stays put.
