Rice in region to shore up Israel

History shows that Washington sends its state secretary or envoy of 'peace' to the region every time Israel commits a new round of crimes. This time around it was the turn of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to arrive in the Middle East.

The White House authorities who are covering their last year in office are going to leave a successful record and apparently they have chosen the Palestinian issue to advance their objective. The Annapolis meeting and ensuing visit by George Bush to the region apparently come under the agenda.

However, the massive efforts by US to drive a wedge between the Palestinian Resistance and draw them closer to the Zionist regime failed to bear much fruits, prompting Abu Mazen to suspend negotiations with the Zionist regime.

Rice enters the region at time when the Israeli escalation of violence against the Palestinians ruined the compromise process and brought international hatred against the US-backed regime. Rice is apparently commissioned to restore the compromise process by wooing the Palestinian Authority to the negotiation table.

Rice has also have on agenda the Egyptian and Iranian issues. Concerning Egypt, she has the mission to mend ties with Cairo, especially after Egyptian officials welcomed Iran's gesture for restoration of ties.

Rice dreams to curtail the ever increasing power of I.R. of Iran. She has on agenda to follow Washington's torn policy of 'Iranophobia', especially after the issuance of a third resolution by the UNSC against the Iranian nuclear technology.
