Our undertaking in freeing Palestine

Palestine, home to the holy Qods or Beit ul-Moqaddas, is more than a geographical lot of land located in the westernmost point of the Middle East. If it had happened to be, it was easy to conquer and to liberate too.

Palestine is nearly 24 thousands square kilometers. Most of the area is accommodated by a scorching barren land or Neqab as its Arabic equivalent denotes, occupying an area called 'Be'r-o Sabo.' The barren land suffers lack of any underground or mineral resources. The area save a zone in south which leads to Aqabe Gulf is totally non-strategic. So Palestine is an aid-dependent country in its very geographical status.

The Zionist regime however has tried to make for the geographical poverty by export of weapons, promotion of tourism, attraction of foreign aid, etc getting success in some respects. The reality shows that neither the occupiers of Palestine nor their allies treat the territory as a special economic zone. However, there is no other place in the world as respected by the faithful people as Palestine is and the issue has prompted the Jewish agencies to focus on the area as a point of convergence.

The conditions after the world wars one and two were favorable for forming a Jewish state in various lawless territories in Europe, Asia or Africa so that the Zionists could pick a vast land with ample economic resources. However, they opted for the small Palestinian lot, chanting however the slogan of 'a country from Nile to Euphrates.' Did they really seek to form a country from Nile to Euphrates or the slogan was a mere propaganda to lure world Jew to Palestine? If the slogan was genuine then why it was publicized? Was it possible for 5 to 6 million Jews to protect such a vast area?

Palestine otherwise is a significant geo-strategic land. Any nation looks up to the land. The Zionists too chose Palestine on religious concerns and made a brawl to present it as an originally Jewish land and remove its Muslim face. Under the new thinking platform, any withdrawal from West Bank, al-Khalkil, Beit ul-Moqaddas, Jenin or Beit Lahm was considered as treason to Jewish cause.

The emergence of the Islamic Revolution was a turning point for the Palestinian issue. The leader of the revolution Imam Khomeini raised the Palestinian issue from the outset of his uprising against the Shah regime in 1962. The Shah regime had warned Imam against making any statement against Israel but Imam bravely discussed the issue and made anti-Israel combat an inseparable part of anti-arrogance campaign.

After the Islamic revolution, anti-Israel campaign turned into a principle and transformed from a nationalistic issue into an Islamic motto and helped Muslim to get united in support of the Palestinian cause.

The Islamic campaign unlike the nationalistic campaign which was limited to arms struggle and turned pale in the course of time, took cultural, political and military aspects. The first buds of the new-face struggle emerged in Palestine in 1998 when the first Intifada broke out with the slogan of Allah-u Akbar (God is ineffable).

The following years saw the emergence of tens of resistance movements. The Israelis were so intimidated that they announced for the first time they are ready to withdraw from part of the Palestinian land. Resistance continued however which followed by the freedom of Gaza and led to the formation of the first elected Palestinian government whose premier was Ismail Haniya, also the Friday prayers leader of the city.

Palestine is closer to freedom today than ever. The disgraceful defeat of the Zionist regime in a 33-day war in 2006 against the Lebanese Hezbollah made the regime's establishment to unravel. Today, mistrust has gripped the regime's army and people. On the other hand, the resolve to defend Zionism has worn out. Zionism has turned pale. The next decade would saw final collapse of the regime provided the Muslims continue collective resistance and the world Qods day is a special occasion to refresh the resolve of resistance.
