Hezbollah will unveil response in due time

Mehdi Shakibayi: Assassination of Imad Mughniyeh, the top military figure in Hezbollah movement took place as Lebanon was passing the 83rd day without a president.

The camp of the west believes that the Lebanese crisis does not take root in choosing a president rather the main problem is that their awaited international court on the assassination of the former premier Rafik Hariri has yet to convene. Given to the suggestion, the Mughniyeh assassination would carry a number of points.

The plotters behind the assassination have apparently tried to stir differences among the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Syrian government by pointing the finger at Syria over the killing.

They also tried to send a warning message to Damascus that they are able to widen the scale of insecurity if the country fails to bow to US demands and curtail its support for resistance.

The plot should have been carried out after piercing the multi-layered security shield the Syrian government has set up to protect resistance figures. The plotters might have thoughts to ruin Syria's confidence which received a boost especially after the defeat of the Zionist regime in its war against Hezbollah, summer 2006.

For the same argument built above, the plotters may have also sought to offer some boost to the dilapidated spirit of the Zionist regime's army which was crushed under the fist of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah in the summer war.

Hezbollah lost an invaluable figure. However, it has a due response it would unveil as time gets ripe.
