Dimona operation, stroke in brain of talks

Mehdi Shakibayi: The joint martyr operation by the al-Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fatah Movement and the Abu Ali Mostafa Brigades, the military of wing of the PFLP in Dimona area proved that the Fatah movement as the flag bearer of compromise talks with the Zionist regime could not retain a relative consensus among its own members.

Some of the Fatah officials are still calling for further talks with the regime despite the failure of the Israeli side to fulfill the vows it made during the American-sponsored Annapolis meeting. However, on the other side of the equation, there are figures within the movement who are supporting anti-occupation operations.

The recent bloody incursions by the Zionist regime into the Gaza appear to have prompted the young members of the Fatah movement to separate their line and call for Fatah-Hamas talks to resolve the crisis which in return would shrink the dimensions of appeal for talks with the regime.

Monday operation also proved that the PA-installed cabinet of Salam Fayyadh has failed to contain anti-occupation movements in the West Bank despite the much-touted claims of its interior minister, General Abdurrazagh Yahia. It showed that the al-Aqsa brigades are able to launch an operation wherever they desires.

The Dimona area, due to the presence of the Zionist regime's nuclear installations has always been put under high-level security. The resistance movements have evidently grown stronger. On the other hand, the regime has apparently grown more vulnerable towards attacks.
