Cheney seems to have swayed Arabs to join Washington's campaign against Syria

Qodsna political desk: Informed sources have revealed that the eventual goal of Deputy US President Dick Cheney's visit to the Middle East was to press the Arab heads to join Washington's economic and political campaign against Syria by boycotting the ongoing Arab League summit in Damascus.

A successful AL meeting in Damascus could produce another failure for the American ME policy and thereby the country tries to sway the senior Arab heads to abandon the meeting.

The senior US official had announced it would visit the region mainly to confront what he alleged as 'Iran threat', something that the Arabs have never faced during 30 years after revolution even in the worst conditions.

Cheney tries to incite Iranophobia in the Middle East so as to push the powerhouse out of the Arab frontline against Israel. He also seeks to pull Arabs towards Israel through the campaign.

Palestinian-based al-Minar daily divulged through its informed sources within Washington that Dick Cheney had pushed some Arab countries in the Middle East to purchase Israeli made missiles to counter what he promoted as 'Iran threat.' He also has reportedly asked the Arab countries to keep their support to the ruling party in Lebanon. The Arabs have also been persuaded to join a US sanctions campaign against Syria and at the same time smooth routes of communication with Israel.

It seems that the superpower is still pursuing to promote its self-styled 'moderate' party in the Middle East and demote the opposite front, the resistance against imperialism. Some others believe that with the attempt already a failure, the country seeks to buy some time before a strategic retreat from the region.
