Iranian Jews won't sell off their nationality

Head of the Iranian Jewish Community (IJC) strongly rejected the Zionist media's claims that a group of Iranian Jews had immigrated to the occupied territories of Palestine.

Ciamak Morsathegh told Qodsna that the Iranian Jews would never sell their identity to a couple of dollars.

The Zionist sources claimed Wednesday that about 40 Jews had secretly left Iran for Israel.

"Jews are living in Iran from more than 30 centuries ago. They have an Iranian identity," Morsathegh said.

"We the Iranian Jews were and are Iranian and would keep our identity as Iranian Jews" he noted.

"We have common cultural and historical origins with other Iranians," Morsathegh said, adding that the Iranian Jews' interests are intertwined with other Iranian people.

"Iranian Jews share the future of other Iranian people and they will remain alongside other Iranian people under any situation."

Pointing to the negative propagandas of the Zionists about the conditions of Jews in Iran, the head of the IJC underlined there was no anti-Semitism mood in Iran, adding that the anti-Semitism sentiments had root in the western culture.

In the past when "the Jews in the world were faced with many problems in the European countries while the Iranian Jews enjoyed excellent living conditions in a confident and secure situation," he added.

"Those who foment such false reports are following part of an organized plot against the national interests of the Iranians and try to question the holy values of Islamic Republic of Iran."

"We formally announce our firm belief that the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfils the rights of minorities," Morsathegh underlined.

"We have always enjoyed the supporting of the IR of Iran," he said, denouncing those who behind the allegations as enemies of the Iranian Jews.
