Israel used chemical weapons against Gaza

Medical soursec in Gaza announced that the Zionist regime had used banned chemical weapons during its brutal attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to a report aired by the Al-Jazeera TV network, doctors in Gaza say the war-related injuries they are treating are making them to stop asking what weapons had been used in Israel's 22-day offensive.

One of Palestinian doctors in Khan Younis told the TV network that he believed illegal chemical weapons were behind the Gazan injuries.

Dr. Youse Abarvish said he was treating injuries he had not seen before in his ten years of practice, including sever burns on the skin and faulty respiratory system.

He believes the injuries were caused by the variuos illegal weapons used by the Zionist regime.

The International human rights organizations such as Amnesty International have already accused the Zionist regime of commiting war crimes in the Gaza Strip by using illegal weapons.

Amnesty is investigating chemical weapons use by the Israeli military during the war in the Gaza Strip. Amnesty's accusations are made on the basis of an on-the-ground study by Chris Cobb-Smith, a British weapons expert who visited Gaza as part of a four-person Amnesty team following the start of a ceasefire on Sunday.

Cobb-Smith said he had found widespread evidence of the use of the incendiary material.

Donatella Rovera, a researcher with Amnesty, said such extensive use of illegal chemical weapons in Gaza's densely populated residential neighbourhoods was inherently indiscriminate.

One of the chemical weapons used by Israeli army is white phosphorus.

"Its repeated use in this manner, despite evidence of its indiscriminate effects and its toll on civilians, is a war crime," she said.

Using white phosphorus in civilian areas is banned under an nternational convention.

When white phosphorous lands on skin it burns through muscle and into the bone, continuing to burn unless deprived of oxygen.

Amnesty said that one of the places worst-affected by the use of white phosphorous munitions was the UN Relief and Works Agency compound in Gaza, which Israel shelled on January 15.

In another incident on the same day, a white phosphorus shell landed in the al-Quds hospital in Gaza City, causing a fire and forcing hospital staff to evacuate patients.

Under the international pressures, the Zionist regime has admitted that the regime had used forbidden chemcial weapons during 22-day war in the Gaza.

The military announced in a report on Thursday that it has used at least 20 white phosphorus bombs inside civilian areas during the its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The report states that the military used white phosphorous bombs in civilian areas, with at least twenty phosphorous shells fired by a reserve paratroops brigade into a densely packed area of Beit Lahiya.

The United Nations headquarters and a hospital in Gaza City were also bombed with white phosphorus.
