Text of Hamas-Fatah rapproachment deal

A Yemen-brokered rapproachment deal between Hamas and Fatah as Yemeni officials stated aimed to help resume talks and resolve internal conflicts between the Palestinian groups. It underlines restoration of pre-July 14 status to Gaza and urges all the movements to meet their obligations towards the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). The deal also stipulates snap polls to elect new Palestinian parliament and premier.

The text of the deal is made up of 7 articles which follow.

1- The pre-2007/6/14 situation must be restored in Gaza, the Palestinian movements must live up to their obligations to the PLO, and snap polls must be held for parliament and premiership

2- National talks would be staged based on Cairo 2005 deal and Mecca 2007 deal, based on the principle idea that the Palestinian nation could not be divided

3- The Palestinian government is made up of elected Palestinian head, elected parliament and the administration (the executive) or the national unity government, all bound by the Palestinian Law will all its details

4- The deal demands every one to respect the Basic Law as well as the internal Palestinian regulations

5- The deal demands the formation of the national unity government with all fractions having their shares in the legislative based on their political weight

6- A headquarters must be established in the Arab Union with all those concerned with the Palestinian issue, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Jordan, as well as Yemen if asked, involved.

7- The Palestinian bodies with all their subsidiaries will be formed without discrimination and would be run under a single Palestinian government (national unity government)
