US has no clear
strategy in Syria

Mohammad Irani

Director of Middle East and North African affairs in the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mohammad Irani says the Trump Administration seems to be having no clear strategy concerning the Middle East developments, adding the recent US missile strike contravened Donald Trump’s remarks on anti-terrorism fight before he takes office.

The senior diplomat told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) that analysts expected the US to reach an agreement with Russia on countering the ISIS terror group however there is no bright future at the moment on such an agreement.

The senior diplomat said the new US administration appears to be deploying more equipment and forces in Syria in contrast to Obama Administration.

He also touched on the US double stance on the Foua terror attack in Syria in which dozens of children were left dead and a suspected chemical attack in Syria weeks ago.

Irani said those behind the brutal terror attack might be wishing to hinder a new trend of reconciliation in Syria, adding if the Syrian peace talks were allowed to proceed, there would have now been a common view there over how deal with the Syrian crisis.
