Egyptian gov fell short of duty over Rafh crossing

Senior Egyptian journalist, Fahmi Hoveidi says the Arab world suffers the lack of democracy, adding however that the Arab youths remain resilient in their pursuit of democracy.

Hoveidi was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) on the sidelines of a conference in Tehran University.

The Egyptian analyst regretted that the Western countries are deciding the fate of region once more in Geneva decades after the Seis Picot colonial deal.

Hoveidi was then asked about the Egyptian government’s conduct over the Rafah crossing, the sole path for the besieged Gaza to the outside world.

Hoveidi said the Egyptian government has fallen short of its duties towards the Palestinian issue, including the Rafah crossing.

“The current government is not what the Egyptians wished for following the 2011 revolution,” he added.
