Shia, the honor of time - Palestinian official

Political Advisor of Ismail Haneya, the Palestinian Prime Minister said Sunday that Shia is the glory of time by standing against the global tyranny and defends the Palestinian people, the Premier press office quoted him as saying.

Ahmad Yosuf recalled that since the commencement of Intifada on December 1987 in which thousands of Palestinians were martyred or wounded and many others abducted the IRI opened arm to hundreds of inured Palestinians.

The Palestinian figure also pointed to the portraits of Palestinian martyrs in major squares of the Iranian capital Tehran and the naming of a square in Tehran after Palestine, adding that the Palestinians will never forget the gathering of millions of Iranians every year in support of Palestine and the Al Aqsa mosque.

"Every one can see the posters of Sheikh Ahamd Yassin and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad founder doctor Fathi Shaqaqi in the main streets of Tehran, so I feel that Palestine is present in the homes of the Iranian people," he said.

"Though we are Sunni, all of us belong to a single religion," he reminded.

"We do not forget the remarks of Imam Khomeini who named Israel as a cancerous tumor which must be eradicated. We also hear the same remarks from the IR Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei and IRI President Ahmadinejad", the advisor said.

"The Palestinian people honor their relations with Iran," Yousef said, adding that Palestine will always be major issue for the Islamic nations.
