Istanbul Conference counteract to Annapolis confab

Rahmandoust: The Istanbul Conference suffers lack of necessary momentum to counteract Annapolis confab

Mojtaba Rahmandoust, Secretary General of the Iranian NGO the Society in the Defense of the Palestinian nation (SDPN) criticized the agenda of the Istanbul conference for lacking the necessary momentum to counteract the Annapolis meeting, set to be staged in America.

Speaking to Qodsna reporter Saturday in Istanbul, Rahmandoust, also an advisor to President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad, believed there was some constraint on the conference to handle the Annapolis confab and if there was necessary parameters, it would have a large impact on the US fall meeting.

Rahmandoust noted that the Istanbul conference enjoyed the potentials to counter the Annapolis meeting, especially with Iran's presence.

Rahmandoust deplored that the nations have been largely kept in dark over the ramifications of the Annapolis meeting, adding that the Arab and Islamic nations apparently due to the same reason had failed to question their governments over the issue.

The Secretary General considered the Annapolis meeting as an American drive to change political literature over the Palestinian issue by altering the face of true enemy.

"Americans seek to push Arabs to forget about the last 60 years and consider Syria, Iran and Hezbollah as enemy," he warned.

"They seek to make Arabs to share a table with Israelis, facing against anything which violates America's interests," he added.
